This Privacy Policy describes how the Status Saver mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. The App lets you view and save statuses that are already stored on your device, and open chats with phone numbers without saving them as contacts.
The following data is processed and stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us:
The App uses the following third-party services provided by Google. These services may collect and process certain device information under their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data it may process |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) | Displays banner, interstitial, and app-open advertisements that keep the App free. | Advertising ID, IP address, device type and model, coarse location derived from IP, app interaction data, and ad performance data. Depending on your consent choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Helps us understand how the App is used (for example, which screens are opened) so we can improve it. | Pseudonymous app-instance ID, device information, coarse usage statistics, and app events. We do not send any personal identifiers to Analytics. |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) | Delivers push notifications, such as update announcements. | A pseudonymous device registration token and notification delivery data. |
| Firebase Realtime Database | The App downloads remote configuration values (such as advertising settings and the latest version number). The App only reads from this service; it does not upload any of your data to it. | Standard connection data (such as IP address) required to serve the download. |
| Google Play Services | Required runtime for the services above. | See Google's privacy policy. |
You can read how Google uses this data here:
| Permission | Why the App asks for it |
|---|---|
| Storage / media access (Android 12 and lower), or a folder-access grant via the system picker (Android 13 and newer) | To read status images and videos already on your device and to save the ones you choose into your Downloads folder. |
| Notifications (Android 13 and newer) | To show update announcements and other notices you may find useful. You can decline this permission and the App keeps working. |
| Internet and network state | To load remote configuration, deliver notifications, and serve advertisements. |
We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data. We do not operate our own data-collection servers. The only parties that process data when you use the App are the Google services listed in Section 2, acting under their own privacy policies, and only to the extent needed to provide advertising, analytics, notifications, and remote configuration.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.
The App keeps your data on your own device and uses Google's secured connections (HTTPS) for the services described above. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we rely on Google's industry-standard infrastructure for all network features.
Depending on your region (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold your personal data on any server, most of these rights can be exercised directly on your device as described in Section 6, or through Google's tools linked in Sections 2 and 3. For anything else, contact us using the details below.
Status Saver is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, associated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. Any trademarks are the property of their respective owners. The App only displays media files that are already present on your device and opens chat links using publicly documented mechanisms provided by the messaging app installed on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you inside the App. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
